Architect / Builder: Gianpaolo Crugnale
Located in a central part of High Wycombe, these beautifully designed homes will be built for purpose, this means they will be designed to meet the specific support needs of each person living in the home.
All eight homes will feature large corridors and living spaces, as well as step free pathways throughout, ensuring that navigating the home in a wheelchair is done with ease.
Fixtures and fittings will be at a height that everyone can reach and where required, have adjustable benchtops.
All bedrooms will have their own en-suite bathroom, designed specifically to the support needs of the individual. These homes will also include a bedroom with en-suite bathroom for overnight support care, providing complete privacy in all personal living spaces.
Each of the homes include a private courtyard area, great for entertaining. And for those wanting more of a social lifestyle, they can enjoy the large communal leisure space, which will feature a BBQ area, beautiful gardens and wheelchair friendly pathways.
Estimated Project Completion Date: Q4 2022
Located moments from the Swan River, with easy access to parks, transport and shops, ‘Riverton Edge’ is a fantastically located SDA group.
Consisting of two spacious dwellings, each catering to 3 participants, these homes are built to high physical support level, are energy efficient and are designed to comply and exceed SDA standards.
Designed from the outset with comfort and support in mind, these homes feature step free pathways, large corridors, spacious kitchen and living areas as well as fixtures and fittings being at a height that is easy for everyone in the home to reach.
Each home has a large alfresco area which meets in the centre to form a large communal space for relaxation and friendship.
Due for completion in 2022, Architect and Builder, Gianpaolo Crugnale, looks forward to delivering these beautifully designed homes that are built for purpose.

Our SDA development in High Wycombe is moving full steam ahead! 8 slabs down!
Architect and Builder, Gianpaolo Crugnale, confirmed that the project is on track with completion set for Q4 2022.
A developer wants to build a $9.5 million complex capable of functioning as a medi-hotel just a hop, skip and jump from the QEII Medical Centre.
Developer G Living plans to build a residential and commercial seven-storey complex at 24 Leura Street, Nedlands.
The developer’s “overall intent” is for the proposed building to function as a medi-hotel, but accommodation needs did not have to be health-related for people to stay at the complex.
“Alongside providing specialist disability accommodation and health associated accommodation throughout WA, it is our goal to also accommodate those in nearby medical, education and business precincts,” G Living owner Gianpaolo Crugnale said.
“We will have accommodation that allows self-independence yet also have the ability to provide and access respite and care facilities.”
But at a special council meeting held on Tuesday night, City of Nedlands councillors suggested State planners defer a decision on the plans so the development can be altered to be “more in keeping with the bulk, scale and character of the area”, and landscaping and on-site car parking provision improved.
Mr Crugnale said the development was “ideally located” to draw on the support of nearby medical and clinical services, including the QEII Medical Centre.
“We believe there is a need for specialist disability accommodation and affordable housing solutions in the location which support service workers and those with additional needs by being close to medical and health facilities,” he said.
“There is currently limited options outside hospital and health care campuses that provide good and fit-for-purpose solutions.”
Units on levels two and three have been designed to meet specialist disability accommodation requirements and include features such as wider doorways, extra space between benches and in front of appliances for wheelchair access, and extra lighting above work spaces.
The development will also house therapy and staff rooms on both levels two and three to facilitate carers visiting the complex.
Four units on level one will offer accommodation for those that do not meet the National Disability Insurance Scheme standards but need rental assistance in a location close to health and medical services.
The short-term and long-term units — which are either one- or two-bedroom apartments — are planned for the fourth, fifth and sixth floors.
According to applicant Planning Solutions’ report, the short-term units are intended to suit people undertaking or having completed rehabilitation, with four of the apartments “disability compliant”.
The report also said long-term accommodation was proposed to suit people undertaking lengthy rehabilitation and medical stays, or nearby essential medical workers.
“We intend to offer affordable rent options to frontline service workers and those they may not qualify for specialist disability accommodation,” Mr Crugnale said.
But at a special council meeting held on Tuesday night, City of Nedlands councillors suggested State planners defer a decision on the plans so the development can be altered to be “more in keeping with the bulk, scale and character of the area”, and landscaping and on-site car parking provision improved.
Mr Crugnale said he believed G Living Pty Ltd had put forward a “sensible and pragmatic” development.
“It is a sensible and much-needed development for the area and will contribute to the expanding health and community needs of the area,” he said.
What a fantastic turnout we had yesterday at the High Wycombe Ground Breaking Ceremony.
It was great to meet some of the future tenants of ‘Hawlesvale Vista’ and to celebrate the occasion with our project partners, Activ Foundation and Community Housing Limited.
This project is the third to be delivered this year, with a number of new SDA developments due to commence shortly.
We would like to offer a special thanks to Hon. Don Punch MLA, Minister for Disability Services, who was in attendance to formally recognise this development.
Thank you also to Stephen Price MLA – Member for Forrestfield, who came out to show his support.

Campbell Homes is constructing a cluster of purpose-built villas for people living with disabilities in Beachlands in Geraldton.
West End Villas features six homes that can accommodate up to 14 residents on Burges Street.
They are said to have a range of supportive features including adjustable height benchtops, a video intercom system and raised garden beds for wheelchair use.
Features are also to include motorised door openers, motorised blinds and emergency back-up power to prevent outages from affecting important medical equipment.
Affordable housing provider WAI Group, Activ, Community Housing Ltd and Campbell Homes partnered to deliver the villas, to be built in accordance with new NDIS guidelines.
WAI Group managing director Paul Stanley said the villas would increase a sense of community in Geraldton.
“The homes are designed to enhance quality of life and maximise independence for people with additional support needs,” he said.
Activ customer operations manager — Mid West Louise Robertson said the project would be unique and showcase Geraldton as a great place to live.
“Although some accessible housing is available in Geraldton, it’s limited and there has never been opportunity to provide a range of supports,” Ms Robertson said.
Campbell Homes registered builder Aaron Campbell said the villas would provide first-class living standards.
Community Housing WA representatives Fleur Jackson and Garry Ellender both agreed the villas would help fill a gap in the housing market and the construction and furnishing would immediately create local jobs and stimulate retail.
“The West End Villas project, being the first Specialist Disability Accommodation project in Geraldton, should also trigger interest from other investors and developers as the project demonstrates economic, social and community benefits,” Mr Ellender said.
“Typically Perth is the primary market for property investors in WA, however the SDA incentives provide regional weightings to make places like Geraldton an attractive opportunity.”
Building has commenced and is expected to be finished in February, 2021.
